Prehab & Rehab Surgical Care
Our goal is to help optimize musculoskeletal function prior to and after surgery. This can help improve scar tissue mobility, reduce postsurgical pain, manage concurrent bowel or bladder challenges, optimize sexual health, and eliminate neck, back or pelvic pain.
We recognize that seeking care for these challenges can be intimidating. Our goal is to create a comfortable, supportive and affirming space to support your journey.
Our Expert Physical Therapists Are Here to Help
At SPH, we always aim to treat the whole person. We start with a comprehensive examination to determine what is happening around the body and within the pelvis that may be contributing to the problems you are experiencing. We also evaluate very specifically at the pelvic floor muscles, abdomen, and the structures around them to help you determine the best course of treatment for you.
Our Treatment Approaches
-
Manual therapies including myofascial release, visceral mobilization, and/or dry needling.
-
Progression and support in dilation techniques for vaginal mobility.
-
Specific exercises aiming to improve tension and length in certain muscles around the pelvis and body.
-
Education to manage any bowel or bladder challenges that may be occurring.
-
Nervous-system strategies to help improve sensitivity you may have in your nerves.
-
Much more ~ customized to you and what we identify together in your first visit and examination.

I'm so glad I found Southern Pelvic Health. I have been struggling silently for years with some pelvic floor issues. I had tried physical therapy once before somewhere else and wasn't super thrilled with the results. My experience at Southern Pelvic Health, however, has been nothing short of amazing.
