Physical Therapy To Relieve Clogged Milk Ducts & Breast Pain Postpartum

Clogged milk ducts are a common issue for postpartum breastfeeding individuals, affecting up to 20% during the early stages of breastfeeding. These blockages happen due to inflammation around the milk duct, often caused by factors like infrequent feeding or pumping, improper latch techniques, tight clothing, or stress. Hyperlactation can also contribute. If untreated, inflammation can lead to discomfort and possibly mastitis. Promptly addressing clogged ducts is crucial to relieve pain and ensure continued effective lactation.

At SPH, we provide gentle, non-invasive, and effective treatment for clogged ducts.

We utilize an evidence-based approach based on current research and recommendations by the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
