Pelvic Health Tip of the Week: Is Better Pelvic Health Your New Year's Resolution?

Happy New Year my friends! I hope you have had a lovely holiday season and are feeling refreshed to begin 2025!  Every new year, I like to reflect on the prior year and consider what went well, where I want to grow and improve. Generally, I set goals for the new year or choose a word/intention to help me focus my efforts for the new year. This past year, I set a goal to get back into reading, and ended my year reading 21 books! I also focused on the word "Settle" -- trying to build consistent routines and avoiding the constant jumping to fires. 

As I reflect on 2025 (and no, I don't have 2025's goals or intentions set yet), continuing to build on what we are doing at SPH is one of my top priorities. It has been such a fun journey to grow this practice. We have helped hundreds of people with their pelvic floor problems, but often, I feel humbled by how much we are truly just scratching the surface of what people in our community truly need. The reality is that pelvic floor problems are extremely common-- yet, people suffer for YEARS prior to getting the help they truly need.

And honestly, I could go on and on. So-- while I am thrilled that pelvic floor therapy has grown by nearly 900% in the past 10 years-- I recognize that we truly have room to go. There are so many people who have yet to get help for their pelvic floor problems-- and you might even be one of those people! 

So, if you were looking for a nudge to move forward and get the help you need in 2025, here's your nudge. You can do this. You can stop thinking about your bladder, bowels or your pain all the time. You can heal from your prior births and feel like your best self again.  You can stop having pain limiting your ability to have enjoyable intimacy. 2025 is your year-- so get started today!!
