Dr. Kate Schenk
PT, DPT, CMTPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health Specialist
East Cobb Clinical Director
I have always been fascinated with the amazing machine that is the human body, and its innate ability to regenerate and heal itself with focus and care. My interest in pelvic health began in college when I took a Human Sexuality course and was appalled at how little I knew not only about healthy pelvic floor function, but also the basic anatomy of my own body. Starting with that class, I became deeply passionate about empowering my patients by teaching them about the bodies they live in.

No one should suffer in silence, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the relief and gratitude on a patient’s face when they realize there is hope and know that their experience can change for the better.
Knowledge is power, and there is an immense amount of freedom for people when they are supported and guided to truly understand and care for themselves— especially when learning to go beyond the limitations of taboo and shame that can exist when dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction. No one should suffer in silence, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the relief and gratitude on a patient’s face when they realize there is hope and know that their experience can change for the better.
I am a native of Indiana and began my path to being a PT at Purdue University. I went on to graduate in 2000 with a Master’s in Physical Therapy and completed my Doctorate in 2005 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Over the past 20 years, I have worked in a wide variety of settings and have had the privilege of treating patients ranging in age from newborn to 100+ years old in facilities all over the country. Several years ago, I focused my practice on helping men and women with pelvic floor disorders, training with the largest provider of pelvic rehabilitation education in the country, and found my passion. This drives me to continually seek opportunities to learn the best care for patients with even the most complex pelvic conditions.
